Put an end to photo spam
Put an end to photo spam
This initiative is to get the creative and photographers back on a collaborative way of finding each other. The system is broken and creates mistrust and irritation. This is about fixing it. We are talking to agents and photographers to find a way forward and everyone agrees this needs to happen.
I had lots of great conversations with photographers and agents alike on how to move forward on this issue.
So here is how to stop the spamming:
Photographers
Be careful which agents you use. Don’t let them fool you there are any opt-in email lists where agencies say it’s OK to send emails to their creatives. They don’t exist.
Only send email to creatives you have met or told your rep it’s OK to get updates.
Agents and reps
Please don’t use email lists you have not created yourself from personal meet-ups with agencies of creatives.
Creatives
If you want to get your name off the lists, give these companies a call and explain to take yourself off the list.
